- Find or draw pictures as prompts.
- Put the audio on the front of the card. Be sure the Anki settings do not play audio automatically.
- Put the written Hungarian into a cloze field. You do NOT need to see any writing on the card as you view it. It is fine if it is just an image and an audio button. This way you can associate the image with the concept, without needing your own language as an intermediary step.

- Practice with the Anki on your phone while you take walks. Something happens when you get off your ass, interact with the environment, activate your blood, your breath, your vocal cords.
- See the picture, say the phrase, click the audio to check.
- Shadow the pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, feeling.
- Pay attention to the vowels. In English, there is a large range of acceptable pronunciation for each vowel. In Hungarian, the slightest deviation from the standard pronunciation of a vowel will render you incomprehensible.
- If you find yourself repeatedly unable to remember a phrase, take a deep dive into its vocabulary and grammar.
- If you are in a place where you cannot speak aloud, type into the cloze field and check yourself that way. You won't be practicing speaking, but you can learn spelling at least.
